On the evening of October 31st, the Insurance Institute of Northern Gauteng (IING) celebrated a major milestone—their 70th anniversary—by hosting a spectacular Gala Dinner at The Maslow in Times Square.
This annual gathering brought together over 300 insurance professionals, who arrived in their finest attire, embodying the glamour and sophistication of the Roaring Twenties with a hint of Gatsby flair.
The night kicked off with cocktails on the deck, where guests mingled against a backdrop of an infinity pool and a mesmerising sunset. The mood was set with live dancers brandishing fire sticks, adding a spark (quite literally!) to the evening from the start. Moving into the ballroom, attendees were greeted by a glamorous photo booth with a dazzling gold backdrop—a fitting way to capture the memories of this landmark celebration.
Once inside, guests took in a breathtaking setup that honoured IING’s journey through the decades. The venue was immaculately decorated, paying homage to the institute’s impressive 70-year legacy. IING President Adele Cronje took a moment to share the Institute’s story, tracing its roots back to a branch-off from the Insurance Institute of Gauteng all those years ago. Her words reminded everyone of the Institute’s longstanding commitment to supporting and uplifting professionals across the industry.

As the formalities concluded, guests were treated to a series of stunning dance performances, and the evening’s culinary experience was equally memorable. From sumptuous starters to an indulgent main course, each plate was crafted to impress.
The evening’s pièce de résistance was a delicious dessert sponsored by QSURE, a sweet finale that had everyone reaching for seconds. When the last plate was cleared, the dance floor opened, and the DJ took over, bringing the crowd to their feet.
President Cronje closed out the formalities with heartfelt thanks to the IING council, members, and sponsors, recognising their collective contributions and commitment throughout the year.
