SUSTAINABILITY IN UNCERTAINTY
Doing business in South Africa is not for the faint hearted. High crime, lack of basic services such as electricity and water, coupled with very low economic growth really puts pressure on entrepreneurs and adds fuel to the unemployment flames.
The insurance industry is well placed to protect businesses against at least unforeseen criminal and weather related activity, as well as business interruption that could be caused by a variety of factors such as shipping delays, geopolitical issues etc. Ensuring small business sustainability also provides employees with financial security, enhancing the cycle of prosperity.
The insurance industry not only has a business opportunity due to the above, but we have a social responsibility to grow the number of businesses with comprehensive cover. Our SMME feature expands on how many insurers are taking up the cause.
