There are numerous silver linings. We just have to look in different places.”.

What an exciting month for the COVER team. First we finalized the COVER Leadership Publication, a compilation of 30 articles penned by well know leaders in our industry. Inspired by the current unpredictable environment created globally by the COVID-19 pandemic, the chaotic South African political landscape and a disappointing local economic outlook.
As always, without sugar coating the realities of our predicament, these esteemed leaders provide guidance and positivity to assist us all to go forth and create magic. They certainly met the brief, but see for your self by visiting our site and downloading the pdf or reading it on our innovative WebMag platform. And, if you like it, feel free to spread the positivity by sharing.
OFFSHORE INVESTING
Diversification is not a new phenomenon brought about by all the above challenges. There has always been a need to hedge your bets, chase returns and reduce risk by having a few baskets to keep your eggs in. However, as we certainly are facing a quite unique environment, advice on how, where and with what, needs way more advice than ever before. We used to talk about 25% offshore allocation as being sensible, but that was two decades ago and the global scene was not as chaotic
as it is currently. Your clients need advice and you need advice. Your job as a professional and the professionals you look to for advice has become the only constant that will guide us all through these turbulent times.
MY GREAT INSPIRATION
August was also Woman’s Month and, personally, we probably need a Woman’s Year, to start the process of healing our totally “woman-unfriendly” world. COVER asked a group of women, from the hundreds of inspiring ones in our industry, to reflect on their own inspiration and share their thoughts with the industry. It was an absolute privilege to read their contributions and to engage in interviews with several of these amazing leaders in the industry. One thing that stood out most for me, was the influential role played by mothers and how the strength of the archetypal mother in the family has guided so many of them to success in their own lives.
All three of these inspiring volumes can be downloaded and separately filed for future reflection and sharing.
I hope you find inspiration of your own between those covers.
There are numerous silver linings. We just have to look in different places.
